Video: Oldest Female Sharpshooter Trains Other Women in Her Community

Wow, this is a remarkable story! Chandro Tomar, also known as Shooter Dadi, is the oldest female sharpshooter in the world, at age 84! Now she is working to train other women in her community. She wants to raise the next generation of women who “call their own shots.”

Tomar stated, “Until the age of 65 I was your regular ‘dadi’. I am illiterate and belong to a typical Jat joint family where women were to stay indoors and do household chores alone. Call it luck or destiny but stepping into the shooting range with my granddaughter Shefali way back in 1998 changed my life around.”

She often beats men in shooting contests, and they are quite embarrassed after that.

Where Tomar is from, they do not particularly like for women to have guns, or do anything outside of housework, really. It is a very old fashioned culture. However, she wants to see that change.

And man is she a great shot! I don’t know how she can shoot one handedly, and be so accurate. More power to her though! Can you believe that she didn’t pick up her fist gun until she was 65?!
