Here in central Virginia, the weather has provided us an early taste of autumn over the past couple of days. Lows in the 50’s and highs in the 70’s. Of course for me, it makes me want to start getting ready for deer season. I’m sure all hunters that love hunting feel the same way as the weather begins to change, duck hunters included. Ohio Department of Natural Resources is getting taking applications for their duck hunting lottery. If chosen, hunters will have the opportunity to hunt from blinds in several Ohio state parks during the regular season. For more information on the rules, regulations and how to apply, keep reading!
“The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is holding a lottery for more than 270 permits to hunters wishing to construct a blind to hunt ducks and geese on select Ohio State Park lakes this waterfowl hunting season. All but one of the drawings will be held the morning of Saturday, Aug. 19, at 16 state parks. Portage Lakes State Park will hold its lottery on Tuesday, Aug. 15. At all parks, applications will be taken locally with the lottery drawings following registration.”
“Each hunter can apply for only one duck blind permit, and no one can apply or draw for another person. There is a $50 non-refundable permit fee for the state park lottery winners.”
