Hunting

Apply to hunt anterless deer in Maine!

Are you ready to fill your freezer with fresh venison?  I sure am!  Its just August but November will be here before I know it.  Though the weather is still hot and humid here in Virginia, the mornings are starting to be cool.  Makes me long for hunting season.  Especially when I see big bucks feeding in freshly bushhogged fields!  Here in the section of the Commonwealth where I hunt, we have the earn a buck program.  This regulation is not my favorite however I don’t complain when I get the chance to a fresh doe in the freezer.

Maine is currently accepting applications for their any-deer (otherwise known as anterless) lottery.  Many states use a lottery system for their tags.  Be sure to check out application information before the September 8th deadline.  There is no charge to apply.    Good luck!
