The .458 SOCOM…It Destroys EVERYTHING

First off, just what is the .458 SOCOM you might ask, well, sit back and let me fill you in. Here’s something I will say about this powerhouse of a round- what ever you hit with it…is going DOWN !!

“The .458 SOCOM is a moderately large round designed for a specialized upper receiver that can be mounted on any AR-15 pattern lower receiver. The 300-grain round offers a supersonic muzzle velocity of 1,900 ft/s and 2,405 ft⋅lbf, similar to a light .45-70 but with a much smaller case.”

And just what is the .458 SOCOM used for?

“.458 SOCOM. The 458 SOCOM was designed for a very specific purpose. As the acronym implies (Special Operations Command), members of special operations units were unhappy with the 5.56 rounds ability to bring down the enemy quickly and with as few shots as possible in combat while using platforms such as the M4 and M16.”
