As much as I hate to say it, we may be closer to a ‘SHTF’ situation than we think. What with inflation at a 40 year high, gasoline at record prices and crime that is out of control and democrat politicians doing everything in their power to bring the whole thing down around our feet at any moment.

Let’s face it folks, things are pretty scary right now and I don’t see things getting any better any time too soon!

We face a whole slew of various SHTF scenarios, so it’s logical that preppers want to know what the best guns for SHTF actually are. For today’s episode, the producers of the video below have put together a list of the best SHTF guns.

Among the considerations for survival are, of course, firearms. But, which would you choose? The most critical consideration for firearms in our scenario would be reliability … does it go “bang” with every trigger press?

Does it cycle the widest possible spectrum of ammo available in that caliber? Is it simple to maintain? Your gun should be one in which you’re comfortable and proficient.

The threat and scenario your planning for may dictate the weapons system you choose. Carry a primary and secondary weapon on your person and vehicle.

Your handgun should be concealed and your rifle should be in your vehicle if needed. A shotgun, long range rifle, and 22 Rifle should be at the homestead for a last line of defense, perimeter security, and other tasks.

Choose a caliber that is widely available, think bartering and scavenging. You’ll want a stockpile of rounds but you’ll also want to easily be able to restock if SHTF. At a minimum.
