300 Winchester Magnum

Pay Attention As Scott Says: “This Isn’t Your Grandpa’s .300 Win Mag”

Scott has really upped his game and he seems very excited about his new toy today, but we’ll get to that in a bit.

Now, the .300 Winchester Magnum has been around for quite a while and I’m sure that maybe your Grandpa might have used it when he hunted elk, or mule deer.

It’s a good long range round that packs quite a punch and even though the 30.06 and the .308 Winchester is more commonly used for hunting, the .300 Win Mag is a little more powerful.

According to Wikipedia:

The .300 Winchester Magnum is a belted, bottlenecked magnum rifle cartridge that was introduced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1963. The .300 Winchester Magnum is a magnum cartridge designed to fit in a standard rifle action.

Imagine taking that same .300 Winchester Magnum round and combining it with a lightweight AR platform rifle, now that is some serious stuff!

Now, even though Scott simply described the rifle in the video as just an Nemo Arms “Omen”, I tried to find the model he used and I’m pretty sure that this is what he had:

The Nemo Arms OMEN Watchman is the world’s first viable, reliable, and accurate .300 WM semi-auto platform. Built for ultra long-range applications, the Watchman makes precision shooting at extended ranges a breeze. At the Watchman’s core is a 24” Proof Research carbon fiber barrel, which is chambered in NEMO’s facility to ensure optimal accuracy performance. Extremely low recoil comes thanks to our own patented recoil reduction system which you won’t find anywhere else. This, combined with comfortable ergonomics gives the shooter confidence to shoot better than ever before. You must shoot it to believe it. The Watchman provides and exceptional shooting experience, allowing the shooter to perform at levels never before imagined.

No matter what, the Omen comes in several models and they aren’t cheap (excuse me I meant ‘inexpensive’), they start out at around $3,900.00 and go up to $6,700.00 .  But that price range puts it up there in the ‘wish’ category, as something to get if you win the lotto, or, if your wife really, really, loves you, it would make a pretty cool birthday gift.

But whatever, let’s watch Scott shoot this beast, I’m sure he’ll make it very entertaining!
