Here Is How 8 Historical Figures From The Wild West Actually Died

Like most men of my generation, I have always held a personal fascination with the Pioneers and figures from the Wild West. Goodness knows, I can’t remember how many times I sat in front of my old black and white television set on a saturday afternoon and watched old cowboy movies from the Golden Age of Hollywood.

And that isn’t even counting all of the old television  shows of the 1950’s and early to mid 1960’s. As a small boy I would strap on my holster and two six guns along with my cowboy hat and spend many hours of watching films about the old west, when men were men and the law of the great prairie was enforced with a colt single action six gun.

But, truth be told, like all kids, I grew up, but my love of the Old West has never really diminished. As I got older, my desire to see the truth of those historical figures behind the legends grew even more and my love of the guns of that era has grown more intense.

The video below is a perfect example of what I have been talking about, it doesn’t get any more ‘Old West’ than when you are talking about men like Jessie James, Butch Cassidy and Billy the kid. With countless movies having been made about each of them, my desire now, is to get to know the ‘real story’ behind each of them, this allows me to see them as much more than just Hollywood actors in a movie.

Now in my mid 60’s, my desire isn’t to watch films with ‘six guns all ablaze’, but simply to know the truth of each of these iconic figures. We all know the legends, but I want to know how these amazing people really met their end.
